Leaf burst - Tree Health

Buds swelling and leaf burst is triggered by increasing day length and warmth. It is a chemically induced event.  It is not a good indicator of tree health.  A better indicator is if the tree can support these new leaves.  

This assessment can be complicated  by these new young leaves being impacted by frost that can damage the leaves.
